About Radio Sonar

Welcome to Radio Sonar, the Southampton Solent University award-winning student radio station. Based on the first floor of the students union building, Radio Sonar streams across the world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The station is run by the Radio Sonar Committee, a group of volunteers who give up their spare time to organise the day to day running of the station, events & outside broadcasts, create promotional materials and produce a station sound. There is also a technical team, which help keep all the equipment up and running. You can find out more about our committee by e-mailing them.

Anyone who is a student at Southampton Solent University can join Radio Sonar. Our members love being a part of something that's constantly changing and is at the forefront of student media. We welcome new presenters, technicians, producers & marketing team members twice a year, once during 'Freshers Fortnight' and again just after Christmas during 'Refreshers'.

Everyone at Radio Sonar loves what we're doing, and with so much new and constantly changing media to talk about, we're doing all we can to keep the world up to date with all the latest news, music and reviews. Just take a look at our great selection of shows by clicking at the top!
